I just can't get it to work. The Epson is always receiving an 8-bit SDR signal. Any hints for the Settings?

Thanks!

After a lot of trying around I managed to get it working by selecting THRU as operation mode, setting the output to 422 YCbCr and setting the PS4 Pro to display 1080p. Now the Projector Info says it is receiving HDR at 12bit BT2020.
The only downside is that if I want to use my PS4 in 4k with the epson (some games don't support HDR, I want to play them in 4k then), I need to detach the linker. Switching to 4k on the PS4 menu will not give me any output on my 9300W any more.
Am I doing this right? Is there any possibilty that I don't have to detach the linker to view 4K on my projector?

Please post pictures of the linker gui so we can see your settings. Also ensure you are using the most current firmware.

We need to see the main page as well as the scaling options you have selected.

Also post a picture when the hdr signal is in use and when it is not.

I'm using the latest firmware. Please keep in mind that with these settings my PS4 is set to 1080p - I want to be able to use 1080p 10/12bit HDR with the linker and my projector. Unfortunately I just realized that with these settings I also get screen flickering.

screen flickering or dropouts is usually caused by bad hdmi cables.
How long is the hdmi cable from the denon to the projector?

the cable to the linker is 0.5m, the cable from linker to projector is 1m. both are high quality UHD cables.
Are my settings actually correct?
Do I have any possibility to switch between 1080p HDR 12bit and 4k non-HDR without the need to reconfigure the linker via the GUI?

Simple question first, why don't you take 4K in and downscale instead of 1080p ? did you try setting UP/THRU as 4:4:4 colorspace when PS4PRO is sending 1080p ?

I tried it that way but then 12bit HDR won't work with 1080p.

That should work by setting CUSTOM to EDID 21 and then switching between CUSTOM and SINK

I am also having the issue: how do you get the PS4 working with epson 5040, passing HDR and deep colour? It simply won't work for me -- what should the settings be?

It depends if you are connected WIRED or WIRELESS to the EPSON.

Based on that, simply select the right Quick preset for your case:

For users without access to GUI for Windows PC, we added a dual-button combo, when RESET is pressed
down and INPUT is clicked the CS (Color Space) and DC (Deep Color) mode presets cycle between
1. Normal operation, clear all 4k30/4k60 presets, clear all deepcolor/colorspace to defaults.
2. Set 4k30/4k60 presets for a 4K30 deepcolor PJ > 300MHz (e.g Wireless UB/TW Espon)
[4K30 all -> 4K30 all, 4k60 600MHz -> 4k60 420 300MHz]
3. Set 4k30/4k60 presets for a 4K30 deepcolor PJ at 300MHz (e.g Wired UB/TW Epson)
[4k30 8/10/12 -> 4k30 422 12 300, 4k60 600MHz -> 4k60 420 300MHz]
4. Set 4k30/4k60 presets for a 4k60 420 300MHz TV
[4k30 8/10/12 -> 4k30 8, 4k60 600 -> 4k60 420 300]
5. Set 4k30/4k60 presets for a 4k30 8-bit 300MHz TV
[4k30 8/10/12 -> 4k30 8, 4k60 all-> 1080p60 444 8/10/12]
6. Set 4k30/4k60 presets for a 1080p60 TV

Thanks for the reply -- I'm connecting wired.

However, I still don't understand where the moveable switches should be. It's not clear in the instructions if the double-press combo overrides the switches. Certainly I basically only get black screens; the green light on the Linker only seems to come on if you use the 'Emergency EDID' setting or the 'Sink EDID' settings. Then I get 4k60 or 1080p passed through, but no HDR or deep colour.

I'd be grateful if you could just tell me -- where do I put the switches?! Which setting is most appropriate for what I'm after (HDR + BT.2020, never mind the resolution?!)

THANK YOU!
