Anyone get the fury2 to work with the G90? I just got mine, and I’ve got lots of problems, both with using laptop HDMI output and PS3 output. If I use the HDFury in RGB mode I get a pretty nice image with my laptop background screen. As soon as I put white on the screen though (say IE or Notepad) and drag it around I start getting big regions of gray. If I maximize it the screen goes almost black. This happens at both 1080i and 1080p.

So I tried using the other mode on the fury instead, swapping the G90 to expect that format, and I got large vertical black bands (about a foot wide on my 8’ screen) near but not at the left side. With the PS3 I had similar issues. The screen would occasionally look OK (but not great) but when I tossed in Planet Earth on BluRay the display would dim or fade. In all cases I’ve got the power supply plugged into the HD-Fury2 and I’m running a 6’ cable to the monitor (straight up) for test purposes. Anyone got some magic to the G90 to make this work? Or did I get a bad Fury unit?

Thanks for any advice.

Rick

You should 'at least' have different results with/without PSU, if that is a first batch then you will have it replaced next week.

PSU is Power Supply Unit? We were using it, but I didn't try it *without* it, since I figured that could only be worse. I just received mine a week ago, so I figured I probably got a new one.

The reason i asked about PSU is that it could help to find out where the problem comes from especially when you can report two scenarios, with and without PSU to say if you have the issue in both scenario or if you have it more or less in one or the other.

The more accurate is the description, the easy to solve the problem is.
Screenshot could save lot of writing as well.

About your issue, i'm wondering what is the refresh rate you are using on your computer ?
Can you be more specific on cable you are using from source to HDfury and from HDfury to display.
You mentionned you used other mode on G90(YUV?), through which inputs then ?

G90's have a lot of video settings that can affect this. I know that other HDMI card users with G90s have a clamp setting that they usually have to change. I would ask this question in the CRT PROJECTORS forum here for some of the G90 experts to chime in.

One of teh designers behind the HDfury2 owns 2 (it may even be 3 by now) G90's so I'm sure it'll work correctly with a G90.

OK, thanks. I'll pop over to CRT's and see what they have to say. The G90 has a billion settings, so I'm happy for advice.

They suggested setting the clamp from auto to H/C on the input menu, which seems to have fixed the issue at least with my laptop as input (reposting here in case someone else hits the same issue). I'll try and drive it from a PS3 this weekend to see what bluray looks like. Thanks for the help!

This is the common G70/G90 'clamp' setting as every Sony projectors owners had to face at least once and keep in mind every time he use a new memory settings location (as 'Auto' clamp by Sony default is not working well in 1080p mode).

I'm late on this but I've been in vacation for the last two weeks... otherwise, I can said this earlier and save some of your time !

Best

John
